District Tacos @ Metro Center: 1 carnitas and 1 fish taco, both me gusta! I ordered my tacos with corn tortillas, but they also have flour. I’ve had better tortillas, but at $2.25/taco (which is a steal for DC), can’t be too picky. I’ve also tried the carne asada, but it wasn’t as good as the carnitas, and got chopped white onions instead. They also have a frequent taco card: 10 tacos —> 1 free taco, super easy. Honestly, I’m so happy there’s an option that’s ACTUALLY affordable in DC!
Salvodorian tacos from El Rinconcito II in Columbia Heights. This place recieved pretty good reviews on Yelp, but I walked away feeling, “meh”. Perhaps tacos aren’t their specialty. I ordered chicken and the flavors weren’t happenin’. The shells are the same used for pupusas and tasted freshy, fresh, but I prefer thin corn tortillas. Also the black beans were saaaalty… Word on the street is to get a burrito, so I’ll make sure to do that next time. Tacos = No me gusta.
Potato avocado and braised short rib tapas tacos from HPK in Highland Park, CA. Not so much me gusta. Mmmmmm… I’d recommend ordering instead the carne asada (sweet potato) fries and angus beef sliders.

I love that the video is called “LA tacos” and instead of talking about mexican tacos, they have Kogi tacos! I can’t believe I still haven’t tried these yet! I’ve had the knock off version in DC (NO ME GUSTA), but this is the ORIGINAL! I WILL try them next month when I’m in LA! They look so good!
